What the opportunity is
The City of Tshwane will use a new student database to match eligible learners with short‑term, fixed‑term contracts. These contracts are designed to satisfy the work‑integrated learning (WIL) component required by many university and TVET programmes.
Contracts are offered by different municipal departments and may be called work‑integrated learning, experiential learning, or internship training.
Who can apply
You must have a relevant tertiary qualification and still need practical experience to complete your studies. The database welcomes:
- Final‑year university students who have completed all modules except the WIL component
- Students holding an N6 certificate
- Holders of a three‑year diploma
- National Diploma graduates
- Bachelor’s degree graduates
You must need a 12‑, 18‑ or 24‑month placement, as specified by your institution. The programme is open only to permanent residents of the City of Tshwane. Make sure your proof of address shows your current residence.
Qualified graduates who have not yet worked in their field are also welcome.
What you gain
Each placement includes a dedicated mentor from the department that matches your study area. You will learn how municipal systems work, how to communicate professionally, and how departmental procedures are followed.

- If you are new, click Sign up now and create an account. Existing users should choose View profile to update their details.
- Enter the reference number TLMA‑2026 and fill in every section of the profile.
- Provide the following documents (you may be asked to upload them later):
- South African ID
- Academic record or transcript
- Proof of qualification (if you have already graduated)
- Proof of residence within the municipal area
- Review all information for accuracy, then submit before the midnight deadline.
The City will not accept paper, hand‑delivered, or email applications.

- State clearly the exact length of practical training your programme requires (e.g., “18 months of finance WIL”).
