What the apprenticeship offers
Tronox will train apprentices in four trades:
- Electrician – 1 place
- Instrument Mechanician – 2 places
- Fitter – 2 places
- Boilermaker – 2 places
The programme lasts three years and combines classroom learning with hands‑on work in an industrial setting.
Who can apply – eligibility checklist
You must have the following qualifications and items:
- Grade 12 certificate
- Mathematics and Physical Science (both at Grade 12 level)
- National Certificate Level 3 (N3) with N3 Mathematics
- Engineering Science (N3)
- Two trade‑theory subjects that match the trade you choose
- A valid South African driver’s licence
Additional preference is given to applicants from the following communities:
- Kwa Dube, Kwa Nzunza, Kwa Mkhwanazi, Ogagwini, Somopho, Macambini, Madlebe
- uMhlathuze, uMlalazi, and Mandeni municipalities
Proof of residence from the relevant Traditional Council is required for these areas.

- Certified copy of your driver’s licence
- Certified copy of your Grade 12 certificate
- Proof of residence from the Traditional Council

- Check all attachments twice; an incomplete application will be rejected.
