Who can apply
- Completed Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) – minimum qualification.
- Basic computer knowledge – comfortable using a PC.
- No prior coding or IT diploma required, though maths, spreadsheets or any programming exposure helps.
- Open to all ages, provinces, and citizenships; no unemployment status required.
Impactful also accepts Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where you can prove relevant study or work experience.
What you will gain
The 209 credits are split into three parts:
- Knowledge (86 credits) – AI concepts, linear algebra, calculus, statistics, data visualisation, SQL, Python, machine‑learning libraries (TensorFlow, Keras), ethics and data security, design thinking and communication.
- Practical skills (63 credits) – sourcing and cleaning data, building AI models, creating neural networks in Python, developing prototypes with TensorFlow, and turning them into market‑ready products.
