What is the MISA 2026/2027 intake?
MISA (Municipal Infrastructure Support Agent) is offering three pathways:
- Three‑year apprenticeships that lead to artisan status.
- Two‑year graduate internships for recent graduates.
- Work‑integrated learning (12–24 months) for students who still need a placement to complete their studies.
Each pathway matches a different stage of technical training.
Who can apply?
You must be a South African citizen who is unemployed or studying and holds a relevant qualification for the trade you choose.

Qualification requirements
Eligibility depends on the trade and the subjects you have completed. The recognised routes include:
- N2 engineering studies with four subjects and the required trade theory.
- Technical trade programmes approved by a SETA and equivalent to NQF Level 3.
- National Certificate (Vocational) in engineering with seven subjects at Level 3.
- Technical Grade 11 with Mathematics, Science, a language and the relevant theory subject.
- N6 trade theory qualifications or a National Technical Diploma.
For diesel mechanics, entry can be via Technical Grade 12 with Mathematics, or the specified N2/N3 engineering subjects and trade theory.
