What is the internship?
The Graduate Internship Programme is a 24‑month paid placement with the North West Department of Provincial Treasury and the Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority (PSETA). Interns work in the Treasury office and at Ramotshere Local Municipality, gaining hands‑on experience in finance, risk, auditing and human resources. Each successful intern receives a stipend of R7 675.75 per month.
Who can apply?
- South African citizen
- Age 18‑35
- Currently unemployed
- Holder of the qualification required for the chosen post (or a transcript and completion letter if the certificate is not yet issued)
- Available for the full 24 months
- Can submit the correct reference number for the position
- Applicants with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
Anyone who has already completed an internship (any programme, not just Treasury) will be disqualified.

- Departmental Risk – 1 post (Reference: FINANCE/DR/02) – Same qualification as above
- Provincial Accounting – 11 posts (Reference: FINANCE/PA/03) – National Diploma or degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting
- Finance – 2 posts (Reference: FINANCE/FAN/R04) – National Diploma or degree in Accounting or Financial Management; BTech in Internal Audit, Logistics or Supply Chain Management also accepted (placements at Ramotshere)
- Internal Audit – 2 posts (Reference: FINANCE/IA/R05) – National Diploma, degree or BTech in Internal Audit (placements at Ramotshere)
- Human Resource Management – 2 posts (Reference: FINANCE/HRM/R06) – National Diploma or degree in HR Management (placements at Ramotshere)
How to apply – step by step
- Choose the post that matches your qualification.
- Download the new Z83 application form from the Treasury website.
- Complete a separate Z83 form for each reference number you wish to apply for.
- Attach a detailed CV, certified copy of your ID, certified copies of your qualifications, academic transcript and, if needed, a completion letter.
- For Ramotshere placements, also include the additional municipal documents listed on the application guide.
- Send your complete application by one of the following methods:

- Hand‑delivery: Ga‑Rona Building, East Wing, Car Wash Entrance

- Make sure your application arrives before 15:00 on 24 July 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.

Match the exact wording on your certificate or transcript with the qualification listed for your chosen reference number. If you qualify for more than one post, submit a separate Z83 form and supporting documents for each – never combine them.
